M-SY (Shioya)

An illustrator from Taiwan, devoted to drawing and the act of creation. The pen name Shioya was inspired by the rhythm of ocean tides and originates from the name 「汐矢」. It is spoken and rendered phonetically in both English and Japanese as Shioya. I do not present myself under a Chinese pen name, and instead use M-SY as my online alias—where SY stands for Shioya, and M is my favorite sound. Having discovered my love for drawing in early childhood, I gradually immersed myself in the world of illustration through continued exploration and practice. I am drawn to dreamlike and classical aesthetics, with a focus on Japanese and Korean art styles. I continue to move forward, allowing dreams and effort to flow side by side.
